Have you ever heard about idrawgirls? I discovered this fantastic place some years ago, when I started learning more about digital painting and drawing. At that time I was looking for video tutorials and lessons to learn the basic of figure drawing and I accidentally found this site… what a surprise! I found tons of video tutorials about… everything!
But first let’s talk about the author, the artist who’s behind this project. His name is Xia Taptara, aka idrawgirls, a Concept/3D Artist living in Seattle, WA, United States. As he states in his website, he founded “idrawgirls” during 2007, to motivate himself to draw better, refine his skill, experiment and to be free to draw everything he wants.
Understanding Anatomy by BittersweetDisease
Anatomy is one of the greater challenge for an artist. Understanding better how human and animal anatomy works require a lot of patience, time and practice.
There are a lot of theories and studies, lots of techniques you can learn to draw a human ody perfectly. Of course you don’t need to master all of these, but it’s important to learn them and use them to fix your own style. In this period I’m focusing a lot on human anatomy, because I truly need to improve on this side. And today I’ve found on Deviantart this amazing tutorial series concerning anatomy. This is a tutorial by BittersweetDisease and it is splitted in 7 parts. It sums up the most important bases and fundamentions of drawing human anatomy, in a really humorous way: it’s a pleasure to read it!
Below you can read about the various parts content, and you will find the links to the tutorials! Have fun!
