Actions Confetti #2 – Warm Colours for Photoshop

1x1.trans Actions Confetti #2 Warm Colours for PhotoshopTonight I can’t sleep… bad times these days. So I’ve decided to use this time creating a new post with Photoshop actions sets test. I find it really funny to do and it’s useful too because it helps me with my photography post production, discovering new things and effects.

Today I will show you some sets that will warm your photos with hot colours like red and orange tones.

These sets of Photoshop Actions come from different authors, and like the previous time you can download them for free. I like warm tones pictures because they remember me the amazing light of sunsets.

Remember always to credit the authors when you use these actions for your pictures. Let’s go with the tests now!

First the starting image… as always I’m using my macro shot so you can easily compare these tests with the other ones and find easily the effect you are looking for:

This is the starting image; this is a macro shot of a water drop, taken by me during a macro session. Sorry for the watermark, but since this is my original shot, I want to proctect my images.

Now, let’s go with the tests!

Sunlight and sundown actions by lieveheersbeestje

This set is made of three actions. Sunlight, Sundown and Add sharpness. During the action progress, you cannot make adjustments and at the end you will have one layer with the final image; this means that all the adjustments layers will be merged together and you don’t have control on the final result. However, the effects are nice, I like how the war colours turn and I appreciate that there’s still a hint of violets, greens and blues in the picture. The Add sharpness is an action you can apply at the end of Sunlight and Sundown to add more sharpness to your photos. I don’t like this actions because sharpening is a process that requires different parameters from image to image, and you have to control it. So I suggest not to use this third action, but to learn a good sharpening method to achieve better photos.

However for these tests, I’ve used the Add sharpness action after Sunlight and Sunburn. You can download the set [HERE].

Rich color actions by lieveheersbeestje

From the same author, another set of warm colours actions. This se is made of four actions: Rich color, Blue Overlay, Yellow Glow and the Add sharpness action. Like the previous set, these actions don’t give you control on the image during the process and in the end. However the results are good; at first sight Rich color and Blue overlay seems the same action, but if you look better at them you can see that Blue overlay is colder, and with a light hint of blue. I prefer it to Rich color and Yellow glow. Like in the previous set, I don’t find useful the Add sharpness action because I prefer to sharpen on my own, but I’ve used it here after each action to show the results. You can download the set [HERE].

Light Photoshop Actions – Free by aoao2

There’s an important problem with those actions. While Red Light works well and give a really nice result, White Light doesn’t work properly because the first step of the action calls another action to play. Since I don’t own it and since I couldn’t find it, the action process stopped there. The only thing I could do is to skip this first step and play Red Light instead of the action needed. The result is good but I’m not quite sure if it is correct. However, if you only skip the first step, it returns a blue tone image. Like the previous sets, you don’t have control on adjustments. You can download the set [HERE]

Red Dawn Action by Jules 1983

This is a single action, I haven’t got problems with that. Again, you don’t have control on adjustments, but the image turns really nice. It reminds me of the Red Light+White Light action above, but more saturated and with more contrast. You can download it [HERE].

PS Action 02 – Autumn by freezy-resources

This action returns a really strong effect! I don’t like it very much, but sometimes it can be useful! Again you have no control over adjustments and colour regulations, and maybe in this case it would be better to have it. You can download it [HERE].

Action Red+Orange by ASHOOR

Even this action returns a really strong effect, but I like it more that the previous one. Also, this is the unique action of this article that doesn’t merge layers in the end, so you can adjust them to achieve our personal effects and variation. You can download it [HERE].
